The Blue Cedar Print Works sits just outside Glastonbury, a working gallery and studio space where you can watch printmakers actually creating their work rather than just looking at finished pieces behind glass. It's a proper working environment - you'll see the presses in action, the ink, the layers of the process. That's the appeal here. If you're staying at one of the nearby campsites like Bobsfield or Old Oaks Touring, it's barely ten minutes away, making it an easy morning visit.

The space itself is intimate, nothing vast or overwhelming. You're seeing contemporary printmaking in the Somerset tradition - etchings, linocuts, that sort of thing - and the makers are usually around to chat if you're interested. It's not for everyone. If your family wants interactive experiences or kids' activities, this won't deliver. But if you've got teenagers developing an eye for art, or you're the sort of traveller who actually wants to understand how something is made rather than just snap a photo, you'll find it worthwhile.

Plan for thirty minutes to an hour. The beauty of having it near Glastonbury - and close to Tall Trees Glamping or Apple Tree if you're staying a bit further out - is that you can easily combine it with exploring the town's high street, visiting the Abbey ruins, or heading to Wells with its Cathedral and Touring Park nearby. It's a proper Somerset excursion rather than a wasted detour. Check ahead before visiting though, as opening hours aren't guaranteed year-round.
