Blackhills Nature Reserve

The walk up to Blackhills feels proper wild, even though Peterhead's only a few miles south. They'll either love rambling about the rocks and spotting the occasional golden eagle, or they'll complain it's "boring" within twenty minutes - depends entirely on how long their attention span is for proper countryside. For walkers, it's exactly the ticket: proper terrain, no crowds, and enough elevation to feel like you've done something. History types won't find ruins or interpretation boards here, but the landscape itself has weight if you know what you're looking at.

No idea about admission fees or set opening hours - it reads as a keep-gate-open situation rather than a managed attraction. Allow at least two hours if you want to do it justice, longer if you're exploring properly.
