About Binnein an Fhidhleir
You'll start from the glen south of Cairndow and gain height steadily through moorland and scattered woodland. The path isn't always obvious, but it's walkable for anyone with decent legs and an hour or two to spare. The summit itself sits nicely positioned between Beinn an Lochain to the north and the Argyll hills rolling away in every direction. On a clear day you're looking at genuinely extensive views - not just local, but properly far-reaching.
This is a proper hillwalker's peak rather than a casual stroll. Families with older kids who enjoy a challenge will find it satisfying; younger children might find the push to the summit tedious. Allow three to four hours return depending on fitness. Winter transforms it into something more serious with exposure on that ridge, so best tackled May through October.
Stay at Drimsynie Holiday Village or Forest Holidays Ardgartan, both within easy striking distance, and you've got immediate access to good walking country. It's the kind of hill that doesn't appear on many tourist radars, which honestly makes it all the better.
