Belvedere Circle

The grassy circle that sits just above Bridlington's seafront is one of those spots locals know and visitors often miss. Belvedere Circle is a modest nature reserve, basically a chunk of coastal grassland that's been left to do its thing, and it's the sort of place that rewards a quiet wander rather than demanding your full afternoon.

What you get is straightforward - open views across the Yorkshire coast, rough grass underfoot, and if you're lucky, some decent birdwatching. The reserve attracts various species depending on the season, which is why serious twitchers make the trip. For families, it's a decent stop if you're already in Bridlington and fancy a bit of fresh air without the theme-park fuss of the seafront proper. Kids won't be glued to this for hours, but thirty minutes of poking about works fine.

The real draw is how close it is to town. From South Cliff Holiday Park - barely half a mile away - you can walk there before breakfast without the faff of getting in the car. It's the sort of thing that slots nicely into a seaside holiday, especially if you've got a base at one of the nearby caravan parks like South Shore or Barmston Beach.

No frills here. Free access, no set hours that I can find, no café or facilities. Go early morning for the best light and the quietest experience. It's not going to blow your mind, but it's proper Yorkshire coast, and that's enough.
