Belle Vue Island

Belle Vue Island is exactly what it sounds - a small wooded patch that juts into a pool of water, creating a proper haven for wildlife and a surprisingly peaceful spot when you're tired of the crowds on the actual Malvern Hills.

You can walk the perimeter path and spot waterfowl, especially if you time it right for dawn or dusk when the birds are most active. It's not a massive undertaking - forty minutes to an hour covers it comfortably - but that's rather the point. The paths are straightforward, though they can get muddy after rain, so reasonable footwear matters.

This works best for birdwatchers and anyone after a gentle nature walk rather than hikers after proper exercise. If you've got young kids who need something between a stroll and a proper hike, it fills that gap nicely. Bring binoculars if you're serious about seeing anything beyond pigeons.
