Beinn Tulaichean

A proper wee mountain this one, and not to be underestimated. Beinn Tulaichean sits near Arrochar in the Stirling area, rising 946 metres above the surrounding glens, and it's the kind of peak that rewards a solid morning's walk without demanding a full Alpine expedition. The ascent is straightforward enough - moorland and rough grassland mostly, with decent views across the Arrochar Alps the higher you climb. On a clear day you're looking out towards Loch Lomond and the broader Highland landscape stretches away properly. The walk itself takes around two to three hours up and back depending on your pace and fitness, so it's well within reach for most hill walkers. Families with older kids will manage it fine, though younger ones might find it a bit relentless. The main appeal is the solitude - you won't find the crowds here that you get on Ben Lomond. It's a straightforward ascent with no scrambling, which some will find refreshing and others a touch dull. Worth tackling if you're staying at Beinglas Campsite, which sits just under six miles away and gives you a solid base for exploring the Arrochar area. The campsite itself is basic but decent enough for a few nights. Beinn Tulaichean won't blow your mind, but it's a proper hillwalking day out without any drama, and that's exactly what some people are after.
