If you're staying at Misterton Holiday Park six miles away and you golf, worth ringing ahead to see if they can sort you a guest round. The course itself is well-maintained, nothing spectacular in terms of dramatic scenery, but solid enough for a decent morning's play. Eighteen holes on relatively forgiving terrain - you won't be cursing steep inclines, which is something.

Non-golfers needn't bother making the trip. There's a clubhouse with food and drink, sure, but you can't access much without being part of the golfing side. If you're on a park holiday in the area and someone in your group is keen on a round, it's worth investigating. The club sits comfortably between Doncaster and the quieter villages dotted round the wider region, so logistically it's not awkward to reach.

Realistic time commitment: allow three to four hours for eighteen holes, plus however long you fancy lingering over a drink.
