Basildon Heritage

The museum sits right in Basildon town centre, documenting what was once Britain's boldest social experiment. If you're staying at Barleylands Campsite or Essex Glamping - both a short drive away - it's worth an afternoon slot, particularly if the weather turns wet. Not the flashiest museum in Essex, but genuinely interesting if you're into the nuts and bolts of how Britain rebuilt itself.
