Barbara Mann's Wood

Barbara Mann's Wood sits just outside Ellon in Aberdeenshire, a proper forest walk that catches folk by surprise. It's not one of those manicured trails - this is genuine woodland with tall pines and a canopy thick enough to keep you dry on drizzly days. The paths wind through, and you'll spot the occasional clearing where light floods in through the branches.

It works best for walkers who fancy something straightforward without much elevation gain. Families with kids aged seven and up will manage fine, though pushing a buggy here isn't realistic.
