Badger Hole

Deep in the woods near Hungerford, Badger Hole is exactly what the name suggests - a proper woodland walk through beech and oak where you might actually spot badger setts if you're lucky enough and quiet enough. It's a forest trail rather than a formal attraction, so there's no visitor centre or café, just trees and the occasional glimpse of wildlife if you time it right.

The walk itself is gentle and forgiving, winding through dense woodland that feels genuinely peaceful. You won't find crowds here, which is half the appeal. Early morning or dusk gives you the best chance of seeing badgers or other woodland creatures going about their business. The forest floor is thick with leaf litter and moss - lovely underfoot after rain, boggy in places during wet seasons.
