Auchterarder Public Park

The park sits right on Auchterarder's doorstep, a proper green lung for the town with a good mix of open grassland, woodland paths, and the burn running through it. You're looking at decent walks rather than dramatic scenery - the sort of place where locals actually go, not just tourists ticking boxes.

It's excellent for families with younger kids. There's enough space to let them run about, and the woodland bits offer just enough adventure to keep them entertained without being genuinely demanding. Dog walkers get a real workout here too. Serious hikers might find it a touch gentle compared to what's deeper into Perthshire, but it's a solid warm-up if you're based nearby.

The paths are fairly well-maintained and you won't need special gear - decent shoes will do. Allow an hour for a leisurely loop, longer if you're in no hurry. No word on facilities or parking, so best ring the local council beforehand if you want confirmation on facilities.

It works brilliantly as a morning outing if you're staying at Alexander House just up the road, or a quick leg-stretch between Greenhill Farm and exploring the wider Perthshire landscape. The burn is pretty enough in wet weather, and autumn colours through the woodland aren't bad either. Nothing extraordinary, but it's the sort of place you'll actually use rather than photograph and leave.
