Argyll Adventure

You'll find ziplines, tree-top walks and assault courses strung through the forests just outside Inveraray - proper outdoor adventure stuff, the kind where you're clipped into harnesses and testing your nerve across rope bridges. Argyll Adventure is one of those activity parks that's equal parts exhilarating and slightly terrifying, depending on your head for heights.

The courses range from gentler forest walks to genuinely challenging high-level obstacles, so families with younger kids can pick something manageable whilst teenagers and adults go for the harder routes. You're looking at a couple of hours minimum if you're doing multiple courses - it's not a quick tick-box experience. The forest setting itself is lovely; you're surrounded by proper Scottish woodland rather than being penned into a carpark.

This works brilliantly if you're basing yourselves at Argyll Caravan Park just down the road - it's only a fifteen-minute walk away. Realistic verdict: it's genuinely good fun rather than gimmicky, and Inveraray itself has enough to fill out a proper day trip if you're not spending the whole morning dangling from ropes.
