Annalong Coastal Path 2

The Annalong Coastal Path stretches along County Down's shoreline with proper views across the Irish Sea towards the Mourne Mountains. It's a straightforward walk - nothing technical, just good solid paths that locals use every day, which tells you something about how reliable the terrain is.

You'll pass the old fishing village of Annalong itself, where boats still work from the harbour, and the path itself hugs the water's edge for stretches before cutting inland through quieter bits. It's the kind of walk that rewards you without demanding much - no massive elevation, no scrambling about. Most people manage it in an hour or so, depending on how much time you spend stopping to look at things.

Walkers will get genuine value here. Families with younger kids won't struggle. The real draw is the coastline itself - on clear days the mountains punch through nicely across the water, and the light catches the sea in ways that make you actually understand why people bothered to paint this place. It's not Instagram-dramatic, but it's proper coastal walking.

Based right next to Annalong Holiday Park and Willowtree Glamping, it's an obvious addition to a wider Mourne Mountains trip. Combine it with the higher walks inland and you've got a decent two or three-day loop sorted.
