The Anglian Water site near Peterborough is essentially a working water treatment and management facility rather than a traditional water park - so manage your expectations accordingly. What you're actually visiting is an educational space where you can learn how water gets cleaned and distributed across East Anglia, with some outdoor spaces and visitor areas that let you see the infrastructure up close.

It's genuinely interesting if you're into that sort of thing - engineers, curious kids, and anyone who wonders where their tap water comes from will find it worthwhile. The site has walking areas and you can observe the reservoirs and treatment processes, which sounds dry on paper but is oddly compelling when you're actually there. It's free to visit, which helps.

You'll want to allow an hour or so, maybe ninety minutes if you're thorough. It's not a thrill-ride destination - there are no slides or swimming pools - so don't bring the kids expecting Alton Towers. But if you're staying at Ferry Meadows Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite or Nene Outdoors Campsite nearby, it makes a decent wet-weather option or a quick educational detour between other activities.

Best visited outside school holidays when it's quieter. Ring ahead to check current access arrangements, as it's primarily an operational facility rather than a full-time visitor attraction. Peterborough itself is just down the road if you need proper entertainment afterwards.
