Alyn Waters Country Park is essentially a long ribbon of riverbank and woodland that gives you proper walking without the tourist infrastructure of bigger attractions. It's the sort of place where you'll actually see kingfishers if you're quiet enough, and the water itself is clear enough to spot fish properly.

What makes it work is the simplicity. There's no entrance fee, no visitor centre, just access to a few miles of paths along the river where you can walk as little or as much as you fancy.
