All Saints Church, Glencarse

The church sits tucked away in the village of Glencarse, just a few miles south of Perth, and it's one of those places you'd drive straight past if you weren't looking for it. All Saints is a modest stone building with real character - the sort of thing that rewards a quick stop if you're passing through Perthshire rather than a destination in itself.

Inside, there's decent Victorian stonework and the kind of quiet that makes you actually notice the light coming through the windows. It's properly peaceful, which matters. The graveyard's worth a wander too if you're into that sort of thing - old stones, proper history baked into the place.

Realistically, allow twenty minutes tops unless you're genuinely interested in church architecture or genealogy. It's free, obviously, and there's no faffing about with opening hours - just turn up and have a look. Families with young kids will get bored quickly; walkers and history types will find it pleasant enough as a break on a longer route.

If you're based at Snugs at Logie Farm or camping nearby, it's worth the short detour on your way between Perth and the wider Tayside area. Pair it with a proper walk or a proper meal in Perth rather than treating it as the main event. Sometimes the best bits of a holiday are the small stops that take five minutes and cost nothing.
