Adrian's Spinney

Adrian's Spinney is a small woodland tucked away near Leicester, the kind of place you'd miss entirely if you weren't looking for it. It's not a grand estate or a sprawling country park - just a proper little patch of forest where locals come to stretch their legs and clear their heads.

The spinney itself is fairly compact, making it ideal if you've got young kids or limited time. A walk through takes somewhere between thirty minutes to an hour depending on pace and how easily distracted you are by birdsong. The woodland offers decent cover even when the weather turns, though after heavy rain the paths can get boggy underfoot.

Historically minded visitors might appreciate knowing this is ancient woodland, though there's not much in the way of interpretation on the ground. If you're staying at Fox's Furrow just down the road, it's worth popping out for a morning walk before the day gets properly going. The spinney works best as part of a wider explore of Leicester's green spaces rather than a destination in itself.

Walkers will find it peaceful enough, though it's not the sort of place that'll take your breath away. Families with toddlers could manage it fine. Dog walkers make good use of it too.
