Inside you'll find rotating exhibitions of contemporary art, craft, and design. The standard is genuinely good. You're looking at anything from paintings and sculpture to printmaking and installation work, and it changes regularly enough that even locals come back. It's not enormous - you can cover it properly in an hour, sometimes less depending on what's on - but that's rather the point. No wandering about numbed by size.

This works best for anyone who actually cares about art rather than just ticking off galleries. Families with older kids who won't complain about no gift shop tat will be fine too. The town itself is pleasant enough for a wander after - there's a decent beach and reasonable cafes.

It slots nicely into a Fife caravan holiday. Sandhills and Pettycur Bay are both within six miles, which means you're based comfortably for exploring this bit of coast without being right on top of a major tourist crush.
