Christchurch dominates the town centre with its impressive spire, while Hovenden House Golf Course provides a proper 18-hole challenge across the flat terrain. Frampton Marsh Nature Reserve, managed by the RSPB, draws serious twitchers year-round. The wildlife here adapts to the seasonal flooding that's part of fenland life.

From Spalding, you're well-placed for exploring the Wash coast - about 20 minutes east - or heading into the Norfolk Broads. The A16 runs straight through town, making it easily accessible from Peterborough or Lincoln.

Staying at one of the nearby holiday parks makes perfect sense. You're central to several nature reserves, the coast isn't far, and during tulip season, you'll want to be here at dawn when the light is best and the tour coaches haven't arrived.
