Roman walls stand proudly above cobbled streets where 3,000 years of history unfolds at every turn. Five Mile End provides cracking views across the vale, while Wickenby Picnic Area makes a lovely spot for lunch on sunny days.

Getting here couldn't be easier - Lincoln sits bang on the A46, with direct trains from London taking just over two hours. Nottingham's only 45 minutes south, making this a perfect base for exploring the East Midlands.

Staying at one of the nearby parks like Hartsholme Country Park campsite puts you within easy reach of both city attractions and the surrounding countryside. You can explore Lincoln's treasures by day, then retreat to peaceful rural settings by evening.
