The Thursday market still draws proper crowds to Fakenham's Georgian square, just as it has for centuries. This unshowy Norfolk market town sits at the heart of some of England's most productive farmland, where vast skies stretch over fields that seem to roll on forever.

Fakenham feels refreshingly authentic - no tourist tat here, just working shops, decent pubs, and locals going about their business. Fakenham sits roughly 25 miles northwest of Norwich, easily reached via the A1067. You're close enough to the coast for day trips, yet firmly planted in proper Norfolk countryside.
