Zip World Tower

The Tower at Zip World is basically a working quarry turned adventure playground, and it's absolutely mad in the best way. You're looking at a 600ft abseil down the side of a slate cliff face - proper adrenaline stuff. If you're not the type to hurtle off buildings, there's a more sensible way to experience it: a zip line that lets you whizz across the quarry at speed without the full plummet. The views across the Neath valley from up top are genuinely excellent, and the quarry itself is fascinating - you can see exactly how the slate was extracted over decades.

This is absolutely not a rainy-day activity. It's for thrill-seekers with a decent head for heights and the physical fitness to manage the abseil or zip. Children can do it from age eight upwards with proper instruction, though realistically you're looking at older kids and adults who actually want to be there. The whole experience takes a couple of hours including briefing and safety gear.

Head to nearby Neath for lunch before you go - it's only a short drive from the Tower. If you're camping at Willow Springs or Four Falls Glamping, you're perfectly positioned for this sort of thing. Both are less than five miles away, and frankly, you'll want the adrenaline rush if the weather's decent. Book ahead in decent weather - spots fill up fast, and you really don't want to attempt this in rain or high winds.
