Worley Hill

The walk up Worley Hill rewards you with views across the Somerset Levels that stretch for miles on a clear day. It's not technically a mountain - more of a proper climb through farmland on the edge of Glastonbury, but the vista at the top makes the effort worthwhile.

The peak itself is accessible via footpaths from the surrounding area, and you're looking at a straightforward hike that won't exhaust most people. The ascent is gradual enough that families with older children won't struggle, though younger ones might find it a bit of a slog. Once up there, the Levels spread out flat and green below you, with Glastonbury Tor visible if you know where to look. On misty days it's atmospheric; on clear ones it's genuinely impressive.

Go in autumn or spring when the grass won't be waterlogged and you'll actually enjoy the walk. Summer crowds in Glastonbury make this a good escape route - you get the views without fighting tourists. Allow an hour or so for the round trip depending on your pace and how long you linger at the top.

If you're camping at one of the nearby sites - Orchard Farm Luxury Glamping is closest at under two miles away - this makes a natural morning or late afternoon excursion. It works well alongside exploring Glastonbury itself, giving you a proper Somerset experience without needing a car. The paths are marked reasonably well, though a map helps.
