World's Tallest Christmas Tree

It's a genuinely daft piece of festive engineering that somehow works. The structure was built in 2010 and still stands as the world's tallest artificial Christmas tree, dominating the Coquet Valley landscape like a glittering metal giant.

There's not much to "do" here, to be honest. You turn up, take a photo, marvel at the sheer audacity of it, and either move on or grab a coffee in Morpeth town centre. It's lit up seasonally, which transforms it from industrial curiosity into something rather magical after dark. The location is genuinely pretty - you're looking out across Northumberland farmland - so it works as a quick stop during a broader drive through the region.

Works best as a novelty pause rather than a destination. Families with young kids might enjoy the spectacle for five minutes before asking if you can drive somewhere else. History buffs and tree traditionalists will find it utterly bonkers. Photographers, though - you'll get decent shots, particularly at dusk.

If you're based at Riverside Rothbury Holiday Park, it's barely half a mile away, making it an easy leg-stretch stop. Whitton Glebe is similarly close. Both parks put you in a cracking part of the county, so bundle this in with riverside walks and village exploring rather than treating it as the main event.
