Wolvey Dog Walking Field- Burton Fields

Burton Fields is a proper working landscape just outside Hinckley where locals have been letting their dogs off the lead for years. It's nothing fancy - open grassland with the kind of worn paths that tell you exactly where everyone walks their spaniels and terriers. The field itself is flat, well-drained, and spacious enough that even on busy days your dog won't be tripping over another's lead every five minutes.

This is squarely a dog walker's spot. If you're staying at Fortway Farm Leisure & Fishery down the road, it's an easy detour for a proper run-around before heading back. Twenty minutes or an hour - whatever you fancy. The beauty is there's no faffing about with gates or lead restrictions for most of the field, so if your dog needs to burn off energy, this is where it happens. The ground can get boggy after rain, mind you, so check the weather if you're worried about muddy paws in the car.

Historians won't find much here. Walkers after panoramic views should look elsewhere. This is functional, local, and does what it says on the tin. If you've got a dog that needs space and you're within striking distance of Hinckley, it's worth knowing about. Not worth a special trip on its own, but a solid addition to a Leicestershire break if you're travelling with a four-legged friend.
