About Windmill Hill
Walkers will get the most from this one. It's not a destination that'll keep families entertained for hours - kids will hit the top, get bored within twenty minutes, and want to head back down. But as part of a longer ramble around the area it slots in nicely, especially if you're based at Lakeside View Caravan Park just five miles away. The walk itself is the real draw rather than any facilities at the top. Go early morning or late afternoon if you want the light to work in your favour for photographs.
Allow a good hour or so for the climb and a bit of time at the top catching your breath. It's the sort of place that reminds you why you came to Northern Ireland in the first place - nothing overwrought, just solid countryside and proper views. Free to access as far as I could tell, though there's nothing official marked anywhere.
