If you can get a round here - visitor rates exist but you'll need to sort arrangements in advance - you're looking at a couple of hours minimum, probably three and a half for a full eighteen. The greens are decent, the clubhouse does the job, and there's none of the intimidating faffing about that you get at some courses.

It's worth noting if you're staying at Nostell Priory Holiday Park nearby - only four miles away - you could slip off for a round without much hassle. The park itself makes a decent base for exploring the Wakefield area, and if you've got golfers in your group, having Whitwood on the doorstep is a genuine bonus rather than something you'd have to plan round.
