Waltham Thorns

A proper woodland walk rather than a formal attraction, Waltham Thorns is the kind of place you stumble upon when exploring the quieter corners of Leicestershire near Oakham. The forest floor is thick with leaf litter, the canopy dense enough to keep things cool even on warm days, and there's that particular silence you only get when you're properly away from roads.

It's ideal for walkers who want something genuine rather than manicured.
