The grounds around Umberslade Estate sprawl across proper Warwickshire countryside, and walking them feels like you've stumbled into someone's rather grand back garden - except you're allowed to be there. This is a working estate with genuine conservation credentials, not some manicured tourist trap. You get woodland, open fields, and the kind of peace that makes you wonder why you don't do this more often.

The main draw is simply walking. Serious walkers will appreciate the network of paths that actually go somewhere rather than loop back on themselves after twenty minutes. The landscape has that gentle rolling quality typical of this corner of the West Midlands - green, understated, and oddly restful. Birdwatchers might spot something worth noting depending on the season. Families with younger kids will manage a circuit easily enough, though there's not much in terms of specific attractions or play facilities, so don't expect them to be entertained for hours.

It's the sort of place worth combining with a stay at one of the nearby parks. Mousley House Farm, just six miles away, is genuinely well-regarded for touring caravans and camping, and Wootton Park's glamping pods would give you something a bit more comfortable after a decent walk. Allow a couple of hours minimum, more if you're thorough. Go early morning or late afternoon when the light's better and fewer people are about - weekends get moderately busy with locals who know what they're on to.

Not a must-do in isolation, but perfectly good company if you're basing yourself in Henley-in-Arden for a few days.
