Trundle Wood

If you're expecting facilities or a long day out, you'll be done in an hour, maybe ninety minutes if you're dawdling.

Historically, Norfolk's woodlands were cleared centuries ago for agriculture, so what remains now is genuinely worth protecting. This forest has that genuine, working feel - you're not walking through a manicured theme park version of nature.

It works best for walkers who appreciate simplicity and anyone wanting a quick leg-stretch between beach trips or visits to Sandringham, which is just a few miles away. Families might find it a bit dull if kids are expecting adventure trails or a playground. Bring proper boots if it's been wet - Norfolk woodland gets properly muddy.
