The Orchard

The Orchard sits just outside Worcester and is essentially what it sounds like - a proper working fruit farm that's been operating for generations. You're wandering through rows of apple and pear trees, depending on the season, and there's a real sense of stepping back into what Worcestershire agriculture actually looks like rather than some sanitised heritage version of it.

It's the sort of place that appeals most to families with younger kids and anyone interested in how food actually grows. Picking your own fruit is the main draw - satisfying in a way that supermarket shopping simply isn't - and there's usually a farm shop selling cider, jams, and other orchard products. Expect to spend an hour or two here rather than a full afternoon.

The timing matters. Spring is pleasant enough, but autumn is when this place properly comes alive. The harvests are underway, the light's beautiful, and there's genuine activity rather than just trees standing about. Summer can feel a bit thin if you've missed the picking season.

If you're based at one of the nearby parks - Ketch Caravan Park or Worcester Glamping are closest at around two miles - The Orchard pairs nicely with a day exploring Worcester itself rather than as a standalone destination. It's the sort of stop that breaks up a longer visit to the area rather than the reason you'd plan a whole trip around. Real value if you've got kids who need taking out of the caravan, but don't expect anything fancy.
