The Mount

Standing at just 105 metres, The Mount might not sound like much of a peak to anyone familiar with the Lake District or Snowdonia. But in famously flat Norfolk, this modest hill offers surprisingly rewarding views across the surrounding countryside and towards the coast. The walk to the top is gentle enough for most families, though the final stretch can get a bit muddy after rain.

From the summit, you can see for miles across Norfolk's patchwork of fields and woodland. On clear days, the coast is visible in the distance. It's a proper breath of fresh air if you've been cooped up at one of the nearby glamping sites around the area. The whole circuit takes about an hour, making it a decent morning stretch before heading to the beach.

Walkers and families with older children will get the most from this short climb. Little ones might find it a bit dull, though the views at the top usually win them over. There's no entrance fee and it's accessible year-round, though spring and autumn offer the best walking conditions. Given its proximity to several holiday parks including North Norfolk Coast Glamping and Dreamy Hollow Woodland Campsite, it makes for an easy addition to a Norfolk coastal break.
