East of London puts you within striking distance of the Lee Valley parks if you're camping in the area. Lee Valley Campsite over at Sewardstone rates better than the Edmonton site, though neither is exceptional. The Engine Room itself works as a half-day addition to a longer Essex trip rather than a destination in its own right. Combine it with a walk along the water or a visit to nearby attractions and you've got a solid afternoon.
