The Attic at the Goat is exactly what its name suggests: a small, intimate space where local artists and makers show their work. On my visit, the stairs were narrow and a bit creaky, the walls lined with paintings, prints, and occasional sculptures that actually looked like someone had bothered to curate them properly rather than just filling space.

This is somewhere to spend maybe thirty to forty minutes, genuinely, unless you're the sort of person who reads every gallery note three times over. Families with restless kids might find it a tight squeeze, but art types and anyone interested in what's happening in the local Dorset creative scene will find it worth climbing those stairs. There's something refreshingly unglamorous about a gallery above a pub - no hushed tones or pretension, just work people have actually made.

Being free, it's guilt-free browsing, though you'd be fair game for a drink downstairs afterward.
