Tarka the Otter

The exhibition centres on Henry Williamson's 1927 novel about an otter's life along the River Torridge - a book that's obsessed generations of children and adults alike. You get original illustrations, first editions, and information about the real otters that inspired the story, plus the broader wildlife of North Devon's rivers.

It works best for families with kids old enough to have read the book or enjoy animals - under-fives will lose patience quickly.
