Swan Lake Park

The lake itself is the thing here - a proper focal point in the middle of Wokingham where you can actually see swans doing what swans do, rather than posing for photos. The park wraps around it nicely, with paths that let you walk the perimeter without feeling rushed, and benches scattered about if you want to sit and watch the water for twenty minutes.

It's genuinely good for families because kids will chase the ducks, spot fish, and generally entertain themselves while you get some air. Walkers pass through regularly but it's not a destination walk - more of a pleasant loop if you're staying nearby. The whole circuit takes about thirty minutes at a dawdle, which suits the pace of the place.

Best visited mid-morning when it's less crowded and the light's decent if you're into that sort of thing. Avoid school runs if you're keen on peace and quiet. Free to walk around, no entrance fees or hassle.

It's not going to eat up your day, but it's the sort of spot that stops a park holiday feeling entirely sedentary. Worth the detour if you're in Wokingham anyway, but don't rearrange your plans specifically for it.
