This working distillery sits just outside Keith in Aberdeenshire, and it's one of those places that feels properly industrial rather than tarted up for tourists. You're here to see how they actually make the stuff, not to browse a gift shop.

The distillery produces single malt whisky, and if you can get a tour, you'll walk through the malting floors, the copper stills, and the warehouses where barrels sit for years doing their job quietly. It's genuinely interesting if you care about the process - less so if you're just after a dram and a souvenir. The whole thing takes a couple of hours if you do it properly.

This works well as part of a wider Speyside whisky trail circuit, though Keith itself is small and functional rather than scenic. What makes it worth the stop is the serious approach they take here.
