Straidkilly Nature Reserve

The forest floor at Straidkilly is soft underfoot, a deep carpet of moss and decomposing leaves that makes walking almost silent. Near Ballymena, this nature reserve offers a genuine escape into mature woodland, with trails that wind through dense tree coverage and the occasional opening where light breaks through the canopy.

Just go. There's something rather brilliant about that. Bring decent boots if it's been wet, because it does get muddy in places.
