St Saviour's sits in Polruan, a proper little fishing village on the Fowey estuary where the church feels like part of the landscape rather than separate from it. The building itself is medieval - grey stone, solid, nothing fancy - and inside you'll find the sort of quiet that makes you understand why people bothered building churches in the first place. There's decent stained glass and the usual church treasures if you're into that sort of thing, but honestly, the main draw is the setting and the walk down through the village to get there.

It's genuinely worth a wander if you're staying nearby, particularly if you're based at one of the farms or parks - Tremeer Farm is only 2.4 miles away, and Par Sands not much further. The village itself is compact enough that you can poke around the harbour, grab a drink, and slot the church visit in without it feeling like a chore. Allow maybe 20 minutes inside, longer if you're the type to read every plaque.

Historically minded visitors will find something to chew on here, though it's not the sort of place that demands hours of your time. The real value is in the atmosphere and the excuse to properly explore Polruan - a village that feels genuinely lived-in rather than tourist-sanitised. Go early morning if possible; it's considerably less crowded and the light's better.
