Inside, the church is a working medieval building with enough character to make an hour's visit genuinely worthwhile, particularly if you've got an interest in architecture or local history.

What catches you first is the fourteenth-century nave, which feels appropriately grand without being overwhelming. The tower itself dates back further - twelfth century, according to the locals - and if you're here on the right day, you might catch the bell ringers at practice, which adds a rather lovely layer to proceedings.

Kinver sits about five miles south of Kidderminster, making it an easy diversion if you're touring the area. The village itself is pleasant enough for a wander, though it's not the sort of place that'll keep you occupied all day.
