St Peter and St Paul's Church, Sturton-le-Steeple

The church sits on the edge of Sturton-le-Steeple village with what is frankly one of the most dramatic steeples you'll spot in Nottinghamshire. It's impossible to miss - the tower rises with real authority, visible from miles across the flat countryside around Retford. Walk inside and you're looking at medieval bones with later additions, a genuine parish church that's been working away for centuries rather than a museum piece.
