St Peter and St Paul's Church, Ospringe

The church sits right on the main road through Ospringe, impossible to miss if you're driving between Faversham and the coast. St Peter and St Paul's is a proper medieval job - mostly 13th century with enough later additions to keep it interesting rather than feeling like a museum piece.

Inside, the space is surprisingly light and airy. There's decent stained glass work, and the kind of worn stone floors that tell you centuries of people have walked this exact path. The chancel's got some fine detail if you look closely, though honestly much of what makes it worth stopping for is simply the atmosphere - these older churches have a way of making you pause that modern buildings rarely manage.

It's the sort of place that works best as a proper wander rather than a quick five-minute tick-off. Give yourself twenty minutes to explore properly and read the plaques. Worth doing if you're staying at Painters Farm Camping Site just up the road - perfectly manageable as part of a morning exploring Faversham itself, which has enough independent shops and riverside walks to eat up half a day.

Free to enter as far as I can tell, though do check opening hours before you go - rural churches can be a bit temperamental about visitors. The churchyard itself is quite pleasant for a stroll if the weather's decent, and it's genuinely close to the campsite, so no driving required. Not a showstopper, but solid enough if you're in the area.
