Inside, there's nothing particularly flashy. The appeal is in the calm, the stained glass catching afternoon light, and the sense of a community that's gathered here for well over a century. If you're into church architecture or local history, you'll find enough to occupy twenty minutes or so. Families with restless kids might find it a bit static - there's no interactive elements or anything to fiddle with.

The real value is as a stop-off during a broader exploration of Consett and the surrounding parks. You're only minutes from Hidden Retreat Glamping and Allensford Holiday Park, both handily placed if you're basing yourself here for a few days. The drive from Manor Park Caravan Park or Village Green Holiday Park would take under ten minutes, making it an easy addition to an afternoon's outing.

Admission appears to be free, and you can pop in at your own pace - no guided tours or visitor centre nonsense. Go mid-morning on a weekday if you want genuine solitude. Worth the detour if you're already holidaying nearby, but not worth a special trip on its own.
