St Osmund's is one of those medieval parish churches that tells you far more about Yorkshire than any guidebook could - the kind of place where you can actually feel the centuries pressing in through the walls.

Inside, there's genuine medieval work to spot: carved stone, old glass, memorials to local families who mattered once and are mostly forgotten now. The chancel's worth your time if you're into church architecture, though it's not a cathedral-scale experience. You're looking at maybe thirty to forty minutes properly poking around, or five if you're just ducking in out of the rain.
