St Mary's Church Magor

The church sits on high ground above the village of Magor, and you'll spot its tower from the road well before you reach it. St Mary's is a proper medieval building - 15th century mostly, though there's earlier work tucked in there too. The interior is light and spacious, with some decent stained glass that actually catches the eye rather than just sitting there doing the standard church thing.

What makes it worth stopping for is the sheer solidity of the place. The tower's impressive from outside, and the churchyard offers decent views across the Severn Valley towards the Forest of Dean.
