If you're into Norman details or tracing medieval craftsmanship, you'll spend a good hour poking around. Families with young kids will probably manage twenty minutes before getting restless - there's no visitor centre, no interactive anything, just the building itself.

The real draw is combining it with a stay at one of the nearby parks. Lakeside Park sits just four miles away and gets consistently solid reviews, making it a natural base for exploring the quieter corners of Lincolnshire. Parkdean Resorts Sunnydale is slightly further at 5.5 miles but offers more facilities if you need them. Either way, St Mary's works as a morning diversion before heading towards Louth for lunch or pushing on to the coast.
