The church sits on a quiet corner in Louth, a market town that feels properly removed from the rush. St. Edith's is a medieval parish church with the sort of solid, no-nonsense architecture you find dotted across Lincolnshire - all stone and purpose, built when the local wool trade was thriving.

Inside, there's genuine medieval detail to absorb if you're into that sort of thing. Allow yourself a couple of hours if you're treating Louth as a proper stop rather than a tick-box diversion. Well worth the detour if you're touring the Wolds.
