St Clement sits just off the seafront in Skegness, a solid medieval church that doesn't shout about itself but rewards a proper look. The building's all red brick and stone, with a tower that's recognisable from miles around - genuinely useful if you're trying to navigate the town centre.

Inside, it's exactly what you'd expect from a working parish church: decent windows, reasonable stonework, and the kind of peaceful atmosphere you only get when tourism hasn't completely steamrolled the place. It's the sort of church where locals actually come to worship, not just snap Instagram shots. The nave's decent proportions without being overwhelming.

This is genuinely worth twenty minutes if you're staying at North Shore Holiday Park or any of the Butlins crowd nearby - it's barely half a mile from the seafront parks. It won't grab children for long, but anyone with even passing interest in medieval churches will find it straightforward and unpretentious. No entry fee to my knowledge, no complicated opening hours drama.

Skegness itself is what it is - seaside town, bit worn in places, bit fun in others. St Clement gives you a cultural breathing space from the amusement arcades and candy floss. Five minutes' walk from the seafront and you're in a different world entirely. If you're doing a week at one of the holiday parks, this is the kind of stop that breaks up a day without requiring military planning or a packed lunch.
