St. Botolph’s Church, Worthing

Built in the 13th century, this parish church anchors the town centre and rewards a quick detour if you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - Onslow or Brook Lane are both within walking distance.

Inside, you'll find the usual ecclesiastical fixtures: timber roof, stained glass, and a font that's older than most of the buildings surrounding it. The church has that worn-smooth quality of places that have seen centuries pass through their doors. It's genuinely interesting rather than spectacular - the sort of building that teaches you something about how English towns actually developed, layer by layer.

If you've got an hour to spare and you're exploring Worthing proper, it's absolutely worth a look. Families with kids will find it manageable - not so vast that children get overwhelmed, but substantial enough to hold their attention for ten minutes or so. It works well as part of a morning wander round the town centre before heading back to Fox Wood Campsite or whichever base you've chosen. Nothing to plan your whole trip around, but genuinely worth your time if you're in the area.
