St Barnabas

The church sits on a quiet corner in Beverley, and it's worth stopping by if you're already in town - though I wouldn't say it's worth a special trip on its own. St Barnabas is a Victorian-era church with decent brick and stone work, the sort of building that tells you something about how the town developed in the 1800s.

Inside, there's decent stained glass and the usual church furnishings you'd expect. It's peaceful, genuinely quiet, and the kind of place where you can sit for ten minutes without anyone bothering you. Not grand like Beverley Minster - nothing close - but solid and well-maintained.

Architecture enthusiasts will spot the period details, and anyone interested in local Victorian heritage will find it reasonable enough. Kids probably won't linger long unless they're properly into old buildings. You're looking at twenty minutes maximum, really.

If you're staying at Butt Farm Caravan Site or Willow Pond just outside town, you can easily walk here as part of a morning in Beverley - combine it with the Minster, a poke around the market, and a proper coffee somewhere. Free to go in as far as I can tell, though do check ahead if you're making a special effort. The town's strong suit isn't churches, mind - it's the Georgian architecture and that excellent Minster - so factor this in as a bonus rather than the main event.
